Hunting Poetry Poem by Anam Rizvi

Hunting Poetry

I’ll Hunt you down with an axe and some tears,
Hold you and ravish your soul to my delight.
When you elude me, I will tear and rip the world apart,
Such is my love for you.
To hold you to myself and not let another hold you,
And when I find you slipping,
Through the claws of ineptitude,
Through my self,
Through the travails of this life
My tears will then prove,
Though a shallow proof it is,
How I cherished this bond so clear and so dear.
But I won’t let you go,
I’ll give you such love that you won’t wish to turn away.
Yet I pray for a day when I can leave you to show the world how beautiful your wonders are,
To delight every lowly heartbroken spirit as you have touched mine,
To rise above myself and see you as you truly are, not just a part of me.
Not just a stupendous figment of my imagination,
And some day if I leave your side to head somewhere,
I hope you’ll shed some tears for me,
And love me as I love you today.
