Human Race Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Human Race

Everywhere you look you will see,
The downfall of our humanity.
So much crime and lack of respect,
We’ll never know what to expect.

Try as you may it’s hard to tell,
Why humanity is under this spell.
If people are willing to take a stance,
Than mankind can still have a chance.

There is still goodness out there,
But many are just unsure where.
If you look deep down it’s inside,
You just can’t let it continue to hide.

For too long humanity has destroyed,
And every generation it leaves a void.
Yet our future is still so uncertain,
But it’s not over till we close the curtain.

Humanity may be its own biggest threat,
But the human race is not gone yet.
There are those who will never give in,
And be so influenced by all of this sin.

If you search and follow your heart,
There’s a chance we can make a new start.
The world can be a much better place,
If we can all unite as one human race.
