Humanity Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Humanity

Have we really gotten to the point of no return,
That the human life is no longer a concern?
Around the world there are too many dying,
So has humanity completely stopped trying?

There are still a few voices of hope crying out,
But the chaos that ensues is louder than their shouts.
There are some people willing to lend a hand,
But they cannot reach across this troubled land.

There is death and violence on a daily basis,
Yet we’re calling out for God’s good graces.
The cries of pain and horror fall on deaf ears,
And it’s been happening for many years.

What ever happened to loving your fellow man,
Or helping each other out whenever we can?
There are those who still have a good soul,
But they’re outnumbered as evil takes its toll.

We can help bring the madness to an end,
If you would treat an enemy like a best friend.
We can stop the world from falling apart,
If everyone would just give a piece of their heart.

There are billions of people upon this earth,
Each one should be cherished like a new birth.
We’ve all lost our way until we can find,
That humanity is all of us as a mankind.
