How To Measure Time

Rating: 5.0

one elliptic course of the earth around the sun
equals by convention one year - down here
another elliptic course of a different world
around its own distant sun
equals nothing we could possibly grasp
some period? - a timespan? - your lifetime?

so looking up at the stars and planets
I sometimes plainly refuse to submit to this scale
this lousy one-sided view of time
as opposed to the infinite sparkling measurements up there
and I feel some alien chemistry stir inside me
some tremendous longing
yearning to be free from these terrestrian limitations
and to dissemble into a zillion molecules
starting to float out there
mingling with timeless friendly stardust
happily swirling
in a ray of light
forever
& now.
