How Much I Need You Lord Poem by Kwabena Eddie Mankata

How Much I Need You Lord

Rating: 4.5

I’m up if only you wake me
I lift a finger if only you strengthen me
I love if only you touch me

If you don’t direct my path, I’d be lost
If you don’t shape my thoughts, I’d be confused
If you don’t accept my praise, I’d be sad
If you don’t answers my prayers, I’d be ridiculed
If you don’t accept my worship, I’d be heartbroken

I may see but I’m as good as blind if you don’t show me where to look
I may hear but I’m as good as deaf if you don’t teach me what to listen
I may speak but I’m as good as dumb if you don’t give me words to use

If you don’t give me ideas, I’d be stuck
If you don’t visit me, I’d be lonely
If you don’t chastise me, I’d be wayward
If you don’t protect me, I’d be destroyed
If you don’t save me, I’d be dead

With your wisdom, I rule nations
With your lessons, I pass tests
With your power, I win battles

My hiding place
Lover of my soul
Peace of my heart

That is how much I need you

Beautiful devotional piece of poetry, well articulated and elegantly penned with spiritual insight. A poem that depicts total submission to the Will of God. A lovely piece indeed. Thanks for sharing Eddie and do remain blessed. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
