How Do I Heal From Losing Her? Poem by Brett White

How Do I Heal From Losing Her?

How do I heal from losing her?
Will I ever truly recover?
She was my dearest friend and lover,
I loved her like my own Mother.

Sadly the memories fade away,
Another day apart is lost.
Alone in bed again I've tossed,
Rehearsing unsaid words in replay.

My tears splash like rain-drops in May,
My heart's soil is totally parched.
My head stays bowed, my hands stay arched,
Solace comes only when I pray.

Forever apart I guess we'll stay,
But I still miss her with each breath.
Thoughts of sadness wander towards death,
Why was I the one she chose to slay?
