Horror House Poem by Amanda Lobsiger

Horror House

Being home alone, my senses sharpen
Every sound is for sure an intruder
One knock at the door and I know I'm a goner
Suzy goes crazy with barking
Noises all around for I am being ambushed
No food do I eat because, of course, it is covered in arsenic
Mom and Dad come home to my relief
But all the while knowing next time
The intruders of my mind will be faster, smarter, stronger
