Hopeless Love Poem by jess schwarcz

Hopeless Love

We talk almost everyday
Cause you're in my life, but not for long.
Our friendship will be over
As soon as your band plays.

You told me once before
To fight for what you want.
I never thought you’d say no,
And on our lives and me you’d shut the door.
I thought you’d come around,
Change your mind, to come home.
But your calls are all business,
And when you hang up, again I’m alone.

The sight of your name on the caller ID,
I sit there wondering what we could be,
Knowing that we never will be.
You talk about the things you need,
And the things that should be done,
Then there’s silence as you hang up the phone.
And I’m left with a constant drone,
As the reminder of weeks ago.

It’s the color of this hopeless love.
It’s the sight of a flightless dove.
And wondering what’ll come next.
It’s the fall of a whishing star.
And the end of a hopeless life with you.
The end of a hopeless life with you.

So pack your bags and leave me here,
With just he constant fear of the past,
Turning home to haunt me again at last.
Don’t think twice about going far,
Cause I need some time away from you,
To loose my mind and something,
Anything but you.
