Hopeless Poem by Annie Clarke

Hopeless

Pure, sweet the gentlest breathe
Longing beyond chance
And all the while
A simple smile could brighten up the day
Yet beneath these very hands and feet
A visage of a billion lies
Each a memory blown away
If we could but peel back
Each and every year
Yet keep today’s happiness
And leave behind the tears
Till romance still remained
Could we all sing and dance
And while away the day
Drink tea with our pinkies out
And cast our diamond rings away
Alas no it can ever be
Always forward we must move
The past should we never see
Learn from our mistakes?
Maybe someday we shall see
You and me drinking tea
And twirling in a gown
Who knows?
What will be is the future
But will soon be the past
So my friends far and near
Remember what has gone
For fear is the unknown
And that is never none
