Hope Poem by Rachel Martin

Hope

Bleeding this pain
And as it rains
It stings in my veins
Telling me never to look back
Yet I’ll never learn from the past
That haunts me with “threats of love”
And “tears of joy” only last for a min.
Then they become the past
That’s how you know you’re not meant to be
But yet so many people want to be free
I try to help, but I need to do what is best for me
Call it selfish, I don’t care.
Cause to love someone else you must first love yourself
And if I don’t have the capability to do so.
Then I’ll pack my bags and leave
Cause I have failed you.
But to my knowledge with failure comes pain
With pain comes strength if you’ve been through the bad
You know the good is waiting on the other side
So why hide the tears?
Let them run free
Your soul will breathe
Your heart will delet the people who tore it up
And didn’t play fair.
God is a powerful spirit so divine
From the outside it’s hope
Enclosed He holds the guidance to which you need
(The master plan to it all)
Helps you right up when you fall
So now when you think of “free”
Think of you and me and all the people
That craves that word.
For the Devil will not succeed
And never again haunt you, with his terrors
Of never being free
