Homes Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Homes

Rating: 2.7

Some homes have three bedrooms
a pool
and four walls;

some have landscaped grounds
or are tiny. secluded;
small.

My home is mobile;
it lies inside your heart.

It was built
of candle light
and long nights of whispered talk;

soft eyes
and touch.

Its shape
is that of a hearth,
and it dances to the beat
of a loving heart.

It has love notes in the mailbox;

central heating for warmth
and furnished with
loving memories.

All of its bedrooms
have been visited by us..

There are flower petals
strewn about,
and when we are together
our two homes
exchange their contents

and become our
Mansion:
Love's Best.
