I once went to Washington DC
Where the thunder and lighting spoke to me
I must have been drunk or high
For I just saw the heaven smile
Welcome home the lightning say
So I shook my head in my dismay
The rain was pouring and the clouds
almost touched the ground
But all i can hear is the lightning
and the thundering sound
It was my first time to be here
But your voice is almost too close to hear
So I took a cab to where I'm going
Soon all I can hear is the driver talking
There I stayed at a cheap motel to save money
So that at night I have little extra for some honey
The view of Washington DC reminded me of Rome
Where once mighty warriors called home
Most of the memories turned dark and black
But I have a great feeling that I'll be back

When I once was in Washington DC - I was a school girl then, so innocent and free! Those were two very quiet sunny days! A few - but speedy cars, and many museums!
