Martin Luther King Jr. Poem by ROGEL FRANCIS SORIOSO

Martin Luther King Jr.

Rating: 4.5

Doctor Martin Luther King
A son of thunder and lightning
Who's been to the mountain top
and sat on the father's lap
He fought for the equality of race
and I would never forget his face
An African-American who can fight
Who thinks of the oppressed day and night
Martin Luther a German name
Just like them he shows no fear and shame
He had the courage like no others before
and his followers became even more and more
He would speak in public or rally on the street
You could find him on the road taking a seat
Men should not be judge by the color of their skin
But only for the character inside and within
It was not wealth or fame that he's after
The reason why he was assassinated later
He spent so many times in prison and jail
But people supported him and posted bail
He fought for all minorities and his own kind
He saw the truth and he wasn't blind
