Hollow Palm Leaves Poem by Ibrahim Sambo

Hollow Palm Leaves

Rating: 5.0

Like palm leaves
Without the breeze
The stillness of the heart
Without its beats
Like the ocean
Without its waves

Your absence
Engenders a silence
Melancholy
Of dawn
Without the dew
That washes its face
For the morning.

Absence is like 'the melancholy of the dawn without dew', a nice imagery.10 for it.

You have created the emotion of loneliness. I sense there is a love that can not be erased by time or separation. Nicely done.
