His Gift Poem by tyler eisner

His Gift

Together the sky and sea
Moved as one
Morphed mass
Of air and water
Gelatinous, thick, heavy
Impenetrable to the mind
But out of the fog
Galloping forth to greet me
Through the struggle
Reaches out a hand
In it is love
Gingerly I take his gift
Baffled by his generosity
As I stand frozen
In my dream-scape
Staring at the inscription on his gift to me
“Not yet” I let love drop, and roll down the
Hill disappearing into the fog
“Not yet”
