Highway To North Poem by BELLO BIDEMI

Highway To North

Screwing the distance in this weird wind of dark

Sandstorm lay now for rest soothing the cark

Roaming gallant eagles bow humbly to dusk

So do carrion fetching vultures gashing as a tusk

Moon our faithful guard nipped and sole at sight

Sideway skimpy verdure well devoured by night

Asphalt grinding tyres, engine buzzing loud

Weary and bleary as eyes dim in cloud

Light fussing still from last wave at part

A country mile laid but home much at heart

Embraced'll i? when earth's smelt and kissed

Pleased'll i? when a flag's struck for i lived

Dead in thought, trustful that i be well

My fate no doubt only time will tell.
