Hide And Seek Poem by Alade Abayomi Idris

Hide And Seek

Rating: 5.0

Death thinks he is smart
But I am smarter.

Death thinks he will cause harm
When he hides the body of my beloved father
Behind bulwarks of hades.

I smile
A big triumphant smile
How foolish death can be?

I feel the presence of the man he thought he has taken away
When I remember our good old days.

I hear the sweet voice of my beloved father
Each time I sit still in the womb of silence.

I see the radiant face of my beloved father
Brimming with his usual smile
Each time I close my eyes.

I see my beloved father
In the trees he planted
In the sun that rises
In the wind that blows.

How foolish death can be?
You can hide his body
Behind bulwarks of your hades
Still, I see him every day
He is here with me
Because he never dies.
