Hidden Love. Poem by Katie Berry

Hidden Love.

Rating: 5.0

My eyes are the clear windows to my soul,

I close them like curtains to hide, conceal,

A secret that has left a burning hole,

In my heart that has a truth to reveal.

****

It's obvious that I'm a fool in love,

As rain falls on the clear windows in tears,

Eyes can't lie, honesty they're part of,

Do the windows reflect my hopes and fears?

****

In mirror images you see the truth,

The curtains are opened to my clear soul,

Mystery gone, can't tell you an untruth,

Just want to run in arms that will console.

****

Love hidden is dangerous and can hurt,

In a place where love will never desert.

this is a poignant poem, i have a poem about a secret love, inspired by two people that i once worked with and a coversation that i held with one of them, it's called 'SECRET OF THE HEART'. you are correct, the eyes cannot hide true feelings, it's that stolen glance that gives it away to others, and it's so painful when two peole connect and the time and place just don't allow anything to come of it. well done. true and powerful feeling here. x
