Herewith Lies The Death Of Love Poem by Frank James Ryan Jr...fjr

Herewith Lies The Death Of Love

Rating: 5.0

For, in Love we must realize-
the spark of truth within the eyes
can not be masqued by ornate lies,
can not take hold its ivory ties,

Can not sleep with the lambs forsooth,
nor settle for inane half-truths,
as bereft of passions quantum sum,
love will fade like distant drums,
an eerie echo, setting sun,
the aching heart of love undone.

No burial, roses, eulogy,
love dies here in ambiguity.
