Here's To The New Millstreet Poem by Francis Duggan

Here's To The New Millstreet

Where old Clara mountain as ever looks down
On the streets and the Countryside by Millstreet Town
The landscape it hardly has changed much at all
From the one that i so often wish to recall.

I hear that many different races to Millstreet migrate
And this is something that we should celebrate
For multiculturalism is something that we should embrace
And my old home parish has become such a place.

Here's to the new Millstreet of the twenty first century
In Millstreet nowadays different races one see
To any one Town no one Race should belong
And with a mixture of Races i see nothing wrong.

Here's to the new Millstreet it has come a long way
From the Millstreet that i knew in a bygone day
As multicultural now as London, Paris or Rome
So many now happy to call Millstreet home.

Changes for the better new cultures do bring
And here's to the new Millstreet it's praises we'll sing
With their culture people bring with them their food, music, dance and song
And with a multicultural Millstreet there can be nothing wrong.
