Valsa, this is a magnificent, carefully controlled verse. Your use of language is remarkable. You build from a tense, claustrophobic mood and end on a note of terrific....release. This goes to myfavourites.

Females in our part of the world have been subjected to abuse and injustice since ages. Situation has improved a lot after the doors of education were opened for them, gradually albeit. In a male dominant society, they still have to walk a long way to be at par. The poem, though starts with a heart wrenching description, ends on in an inspiring tone. The last two stanzas are very inspiring, as are the 'Poet's Notes' too.

In a quickly darkening world She looks for a candle flame To make her ashen heart once more aflame When torn with the whiplash of life She longs for a balm to kiss away The sting of her reeking wounds

A very strong and expressive text, stemming from the spirit of modern human being, especially for a lonely woman who suffers internally and externally, who has no outlet except for writing poetry and depicting the circumstances of the painful reality in an excellent poem.. Wonderful poetry deserves 10 and onto my favorite list..well done
