Her Laugh Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Her Laugh

Rating: 2.7

Her laugh
was the smell
of newly washed linens;

fresh cut grass

child smiles

gypsy dances

the green spot at sunset

how Niagara Falls sounds
when you get close on the bus

crunchy snow

good molasses pouring

a special touch
from one you love

joy ringing in certain church songs

happy eyes from babies,
giggles too,

the sigh, that special sigh
after love-making

an unexpected compliment
that makes you glow

quiet nights

really really good chocolate

music in your bedroom late at night

A look from someone you want that look from.

But most of all
she laughs
like she
likes you
and she does.

Like that.

That is her laugh.
