Her, But Me Poem by Ainin Sofiya

Her, But Me

Faraway, I gazed with an empty heart
Darkness swallowed my sufferings inside
Picking up the pieces, I fell apart
Tired and exhausted from trying to fight
Waited endlessly, scars starting to show
Contemplate my life prior to the past
Holding on tight I could never let go
You walked away, promises turn to dust
A twinkle appeared, eyes began to glimmer
Flickering bright like the moon and the stars
Thoughts came spiralling, and she took over
Her familiar smirk, so close yet so far
Nightfall comes knocking, leading me astray
Built up walls, locking my demons away

Beautiful wording in this poem although it is a poem of sadness. Very well written!
