Hello, I'm Jerry the giraffe
I'm a funny looking dude
I have whiskers on my chin
and 32 teeth, too help
me eat my food
I have a long pink tongue
A funky looking grin
my eyes are dark brown
they compliment
the patchwork of my skin

The horns on my head are called ossicones
I use them when I fight
they are made from bone and covered with skin
and they look very good for my height

Giraffes can grow to 16ft tall,
Giraffes tower above the rest
And when there are a bunch of us,
we look our very best

The collective name for a giraffe is a tower
Which is very strange you see,
because giraffes, do tower,
over everything that's alive today
especially you and me. Drawing by Susan Wagg
