Heed My Words Poem by jesikalee gregory

Heed My Words

Heed my words you little ones,
who would grow up way too soon.
Take your time to watch the sky,
stare up at the moon.
Take your time,
enjoy your life.

Never wish that you were older,
for old you will become.
For all your life, and all your fun
the total is not the sum.

You will see many things,
throughout your life's short years.
Sadness, joy, love and hate,
excitement, dreams and fears.

Listen closely all sweet children,
waste not your time alive.
Pretty soon you'll be old,
and for nothing you will strive.

Heed these words everyone,
with fierce intensity.
Life is far too short,
but death is an eternity.
