Heartbreak Poem by alex manson

Heartbreak

stretch a smile to make it last
give my life so you can breathe
don't want this moment to slip into the past
never wanted you to leave...
(can i make you happy?)
i try and make this kiss last
but every second fades
don't want our love to slip into the past
slipping away like it's in a coma, don't be afraid...
(can i make you happy?)
you ask about me every now and then
but don't you know you'll find me at the end
and we can dance into heaven again
just please hold onto me one last time my friend...
(can i make you happy?)
a love never promised to last
but i'm sure we'll make it back so fast
darling we don't have to become part of the past...
(can i make you happy?)
i carry my heart to you just like before
with roses and a smile hopeful to stay
straight to your door
praying this love will never go away...
(can i make you happy?)
you always used to turn me down
but now that i kneel on different ground
i promise i love you without a sound
please take my hand as i drift deep down...
(can i make you happy?)
can't i kill this sorrow
it always creeps back to me
i dream of seeing you tomorrow
but you left and now there's only agony...
(can i make you happy?)
i can try forever
but i can't make you come back and stay
will the pieces of my heart ever heal back together,
will you let me make you happy before this moment slips away?
