Your heart beats in time with mine
As we lay side by side
I see your chest rise
With every breath you take
And I know with all my heart
That:

As long as I can hear your heartbeat
Everthing's alright
As long as you keep breathing
I'll be able to survive

This morning I got a phone call
That made me heart stop in its tracks
You're in the hospital
So I rush to your side
Hoping and praying with all my heart

I can hear you'd heartbeat
Everything will be alright
You're still breathing
So you and I can survive

Your heartbeat stopped this morning
And so did mine in turn
There's no reason for my heart to beat
Now that you're gone
