Heart is Aching
(a poem by Shakil Ahmed)

Heart is aching and dead blood oozing
Like the tiny drops of summer's rain.
An invisible whip lashing my tender soul
And i am screaming out of severe pain.
Dry lips and wrinkled forehead
Tell the havocs of windy night,
When the world was fast asleep
Enjoying the mirth of faint moon light.
Like the waves of unfurl ocean,
Very often I die and rebirth,
When fond memory of bygone days
Is exhumed from deep delved earth.
How shall I bear the torment of
Those often told white lies
That makes existence a part of living
With glaring wounds and desolate eyes.
My red red love has turned
Into a portrait of pathetic rejection
When flowers are blooming in the garden
Pouring fragrance in the air from every direction.
My cherished dream has become wan
Like the faint light of crescent moon
Dribbling tears and unknown fears
Are my long awaited blessed boon.
Dropping of fame and panic of shame
Lurking in the darkness of night
Yet I believe One day my red red love
Will shimmer and shine in light.
