Healed Poem by Leonard Ikojo

Healed

Rating: 5.0

I recall vividly when it all went wrong,
The events replaying themselves like a never-ending song,
I resolved I would never be slain again,
Only to pick up myself, and walk the lonely path again.

I watched spellbound as you held me in your arms,
I struggled not to resist the allure of your charms,
"I promised, I promised this would never happen again", I protested,
This was different, would I yield; would I be defeated?

You looked beyond my war, my pain, my conflict,
You never let go, through it all, you persisted,
You sacrificed, you pulled me through,
My heart is yours, I present it to you.
