Do you ever look back into the past
Where memories bring you pain?
Others make you smile to think about
Nothing ever stays the same.

But one thing I feel, deep in my heart
That God has always been with me
As a child I felt His presence
Though He was someone I could not see.

I said my prayers, a parent by my side
As I thanked Him for my blessings
Asked Him to look after my loved ones
For comfort it always brings.

Yes, looking back was something that I
Do to this very single day
I know there is pain in my heart too
But know in my heart He will forever stay!
