Have You? Poem by Kevin John Racaza

Have You?

Have you ever thought of those moments?
The moments you thought you'd want to last;
Last until you gray, till eternity
Until the sun that gives warmth cools down.

Have you ever thought of those people?
The people you cherished and valued so much;
So much that you'd give up all to be with them
For with them you've felt love that soothes your heart.

Have you ever looked upon the vast sky?
A sky that so vast that you'd dream;
Dream of places you'd want to go and see;
See whether they'll be just imaginary or can be reality.

Have you ever tried talking to someone you like?
Like your pulse beats faster than the usual rhythm,
A rhythm so rapid it echoed like rock music playing,
Playing to point you'll just want to sing out loud.

Have you ever walked towards a road that's forked?
Forked in way you must decide which one to take
For what you'll take decides what your future will be.
Be it a good one or a bad one, either way is a consequence.

Have you ever done something unpleasant?
So unpleasant that it caused you or others pain;
Pain that's excruciating it weakens the will.
The will to go forth and smile for the morrow.

Have you?
