Have Faith Poem by Chris Wainwright

Have Faith

From that very first moment I saw her
Walking out of that stately old door
My mind filled with joy and hope
Of getting to know her some more

In the months that followed we became inseparable
Both wanting the very same dream
Clear to all was a union in the making
What a truly magical scene

Years passed before she became so distant
Her vagueness really began to tell
And so I asked here, if there was something wrong?
Because clearly all was not well

"Have faith" she said to me, sincerely
Before she suddenly walked away
Leaving me to deal with the silence
What was I supposed to say?

As time has rolled by it's all become just a memory
With the ideal of togetherness truly gone
The best thing for me now is just being happy
In knowing that she wasn't... "the one"

So if you ever do think about calling
At some point around to my door
Just know, that I always did and do still love you dearly
But as for faith? ...There is no more.
