Harrowed Wings Poem by shea stagg

Harrowed Wings

Life filled the air fervent and fair like the flutter of wings from a thousand butterflies
Joyous moments shared and now lost.
Sacred promises made and then broken in one instance shattered never to return
Distrust spurns and prevails on harrowed wings.
If life had lived it then live it fair for strangers intervene and fade leaving hatreds dark maiden scouring, snarling!
We were young once, love held us within her glory, shared emotions danced within both hearts in unison unadulterated and pure.
But time makes a fool of us all, purging us of all feelings of oneness; regret bursts forth and form regret, hatred for past wrongs never to be righted.
Passion, gone, took, stolen by time, thief of youth, and un-forgiver in old age.
Should we both become one, melding organic free ever again? ,
You once knew what I was thinking, and I you! Minds tuned in ever deepening understanding seeing through each others eyes.
Perhaps there was the route cause? You saw the rot inside, you had lived the lie
I still feel your cry!
