Hard Guy In Love Poem by Ejalonibu Abraham

Hard Guy In Love

Hard Guy In Love

I'm a rock with a soul made of gravel
My heart tastes like dark whiskey
Silence has become raw and torn
Echo is first in my music
But the weather of grief invites
The black seed of sweetness to find the root
I'm seriously lost in the wide embankment of love.

I know we met yesterday,
But you innocently tell me
How time comes and goes
Your tolerance has no end
When it comes to loving you
I will wait a lifetime for you to see the truth

Your eyes tell me you will love me every day
No matter what may come
You will be there to wait
I promise to be your strength
whenever you fall weak.
I promise to be your voice
when you can't find the words.
I may be a real hard guy,
but baby I'm a real good man.
