Happy New Year Dad


There are many days in the past year
When I have been really sad
I try to block out many things
But I still miss my dad

I remember all those years ago
When I watched you having fun
It made me feel happy inside
Because Dad your number one

I remember things you said to me
When I was a little lad
I didn't know what they meant
Because they sounded really mad

I know I mustn't dwell upon
All things in the past
But I hold on to the thoughts of you
Until my memories will last

I miss you at this time of year
And the words which make me sad
Because I can no longer say
Happy New Year Dad
