Happy Ending Poem by Jessica Goodell

Happy Ending

Every little girl
Grows up to believe
That somewhere out there...
Somewhere there is a happy ending.

I grew up
Believing
Trusting
Wondering when is it going to happen to me?

I keep waiting
But the hope is fading fast
And I begin to question it.
Is there one for me?

I've come so close so many times
But it never works out.
They always leave
And I'm left broken again.

Where is my happy ending?
Why must I cry
And hurt so much?

I'm so tired of crying.
But wait maybe...
Maybe this is it.
Maybe this is my happy ending.

Only time will tell.
I hope this is
Finally
My happy ending.
