Hand Gesture Poem by Gamson Jr Mawallil Quijano

Hand Gesture

Her hand raised a little when she saw me
In her wan lips, something she'd like to say
Oh, how sad, her condition impedes her from speaking!
But her eyesight and hearing are fine
As I approach her, I asked: How may I help you, dear?
With teary eyes, she keeps staring blankly at me.
Hoping she could convey to us her thoughts
I handed a pen and paper to her.
First I wrote: Dear, please tell us what you need.
Then she tried to write her answer on the paper
How woeful, she couldn't write down her thoughts
As she holds the pen, tears keep flowing down her cheeks.
'How may I help you, dear? ' I asked again.
Tears keep flowing down her cheeks.
I understood how excruciating her state is!
Just like I am, she's an expatriate, who leaves her family home
Hoping somewhere miles away, to them she could give the stars and the moon
Amidst her rising sun, twilight engulfed her, sadly.
Just like before, so hard to rise and shine again brightly
To Allaah, I pray earnestly: May she be healed and be with her family healthy and happy.
