Hallelujah!
There is some devil there, I know it, I am certain of it,
He throws-rocks, in my path, not caring a whit,
I ask Saint Jude to intercede so I can journey, through life with ease,
He is, after all, the patron saint of lost causes, but he ignores my pleas.
My home is in Devon, perhaps Saint Petrock, will take my hand, and guide me,
Saint Perran, or Saint Michael, I am not fussy, any West Country saint, I plead to thee.
I know, Saint Mother Teresa! A saint of my time, halleluiah!
You gave your life to the poor, at the gates, Gabriel said, welcome in! halleluiah!
You taught "God doesn't require us to succeed; he only requires that we try, halleluiah!
Oh, Mother Teresa, my saint, I have tried, and tried, and tried, a miracle please. halleluiah!
