Half Asleep, One Night Poem by Kishore Asthana

Half Asleep, One Night

One night

Half asleep I stir in the dark / And find her hand in mine
It's been there, it seems forever / Gods own design

In the silence, it speaks to me / Of her loving smiles
Of the path we've been together / Of the coming miles

My eyes are closed, I sigh content
For in her touch, I can see
What I've meant for her, over the years
What she has meant for me

Some dreams are better dreamt / When one is half asleep
Wonder emerges from simple things / Up from the silent deep
