Waiting for the dawn -
Venus rises.
answering a question by Sabrina Gerhart (below) : yes, it is so. ======================================================== Sabrina Gerhart (7/26/2017 5: 54: 00 AM) then about timing, you wrote this poem in autumn, close to the equinox? ========================================================
the best visibility of Venus in the northern hemisphere is when its inclination on the ecliptic plane is at its maximum. That is: after sunset during the spring equinox, or before sunrise in the period of the autumnal equinox. - the Ecliptic plane is the path of the Sun across the sky is a line called the ecliptic. The ecliptic changes slightly throughout the year. It actually rises and falls. The highest point occurs at the summer solstice, while the lowest position happens six months later at winter solstice.
then about timing, you wrote this poem in autumn, close to the equinox?
thank you, Sofia. I love haiku - and indeed I prefer 'traditional' haiku to many modern ones (especially those western-style..)
ABOUT VENUS and Myths: Aztecs thought that as 'Evening Star', Venus personified Xolotl, while at Dawn, it personified Quetzalcoatl (Quetzalcoatl and Xolotl were twin)

I would like to translate this poem
FOOTNOTE: Venus is the second brightest object in the night sky after the Moon and can be seen even in daylight. When Venus is west of the Sun, it rises before the Sun in the morning (this explains why it is known as the 'Morning Star') .. And when it is east of the Sun, Venus is easily seen in the evening, just after sunset (hence, the 'Evening Star') .
