H.E.R. Poem by Rovert Nworb

H.E.R.

Summer, ah summer
Sun beams through the veiny leaves
Tickling my stomach like a father
Lying upon bugmudded grounds amidst
shrunken shriveled apples
Atop a blanket spread upon the earth
so as to lay down without itching
And my sweet heart, laying with me,
Absorbing the blueness of the sky,
In my arms
Alone at last, the day has come
And we gave in from waiting for our
foolish couple goals,
We don't regret it
The first lips I touched with my own,
The first pair I tasted
Hers and only hers, the way I wanted
it to be
What strange feeling, a kiss is
Never figuring it to be so soft,
Never figuring it to be so sweet
Never imagining that it was just
a touch, two lips together
The warm wetness of the lips,
Wrapping around one another beautifully
As if form fitting and toxic,
A pleasure undeniable and unseekable
The kiss of a woman
As we lay
I wrapping my arms across
her breathing bosom
To the side of her face, to feel
her cheek, her hair
As we rub noses and tangle eyelashes
Her mouth open, her eyes closed
I try to do the same but it's so hard
Looking away for one measly moment
Away from that pleasured face
the face of my eternal dream
If one thing in the world I could have
Would it be those very eyes
behind those joyous eyelids -
To wake up to every morning,
To be the last thing I see before
goodnight,
To be a moment's peace in a busy life,
To be a storm in the fire
An anchor in troubled seas
Are those the eyes I dream of,
Looking out at me?
