Guilty Poem by Melissa Andrea Rivero Wong

Guilty

The day was cloudly
The avenue was screaming with noise of the cars
Our fellows were walking fast
There were many stores and houses
But my sister
She was all away down
As if she was the sleeping beauty
My dear sister was on the floor
Asking for help as if they could hear her
And no one listen as if they were deaf or ignoring her
My heart was dying
Feeling guilty
But I knew it wasn’t my fault
I didn’t do anything to help her
But I didn’t crash her either
It was the vehicle
It was him and he ran away
Such a coward
I will never forget his face
And if I see him again
I will make him pay for his own mistake
I won’t get my hand dirty for him
But I got my way out.
