I did not think I'll ever set
my eyes on a sight like Guadalest;

It is the most celebrated in Spain
of tourist attractions visited again and again.

A near perpendicular ascent to the peak
above the lake like an eagle's beak;

a site that's never been modernised
or turned into a theme park and commercialised.

Day trips to Guadalest are a treat
for friends to leisurely meet and greet.

Of the few visits we made to Guadalest
our memories are sweet, they are the best!
