Grey And Sunset Peach Poem by Annie Mark

Grey And Sunset Peach

Head and heart
fighting a war inside
for dominion over my days actions
Over the desire to say i love you
Or the need to preserve my sanity

In the most sublime of moments,
the union of both takes place
And my heart feels a warm relief
That my mind has sanctioned its love

My happiness is when I know that with you
My heart is full to bursting
And my eyes are dry to tears
My lips curved into smiles and laughter ring in my ears

In the deepest despairs I know
That my heart will remain as full
As my eyes would be with tears
And silence will range in the halls of my ears

Dark rain clouds are gathering force
And the heavens are looking grey
But lets remember how stunning the bougainvillea looked
Against that grey sky yesterday...

hope
