Annie Mark Poems

The sinews in your arm tense and relax
Not so the tightness in my heart
We laugh and smile and are best friends
Trying so hard to just be as before.
...

It was a long hot day...
And a longer hotter ride in the lurching boat
Over swells that rolled gently
And spoke of the lurking monsoon
...

Head and heart
fighting a war inside
for dominion over my days actions
Over the desire to say i love you
...

Little words running along the page
And with a tap of fingers away it went
The email that told you I was leaving
...

will you remember me
If i am not there to remind you?

Will you recall my hand waving italian
...

6.

Feels like the skin is tearing off my face
Slowly and painfully
The rips in heart are throbbing
And I try to ease into a vacuum in my head
...

It must have been a heaven
In its own right
To have that love
And that laughter
...

When the dragon came, I turned to my knight
Expecting him to rush out and slay the beast
When the night fell, I turned to my light
Thinking it would cast a glow
...

Is it done?
The goodbye
The waiting and wondering
The moon lingering on the hill..
...

Three little X's walked along their way
At the end of the page so far awy
Across the continents they flew
Through nights and days and datelines
...

Summertime...
Warbling birds are all very well
But not at 3 a.m.
Cuckoo's may have been named
...

The ocean is stilling
Ready to overflow
into a burst of rapid angry waves
and the skies clear themselves
...

I feel worn out and old
Jaded and tired
..and yet in the throes of the ending
I can sense the promise of the new
...

She walked a long road
in hidden lights
slowly savoring the dappled lanes
breathing in the dust
...

Love, Is what I see
In the eyes of the seven month old child
Laughing up at me
Love, is what I smell
...

Plops of fat drops of water
Fell from the dark skies
Slowly splatting onto the tarred roads
and on the windshields of all the cars
...

Looking for that spark
The clean and unspoilt gleam in the eye
that you can never get back
after the innonce of your youth
...

18.

In the confusion of my day
And the rumble of my mind
the threads of my thoughts were entwined
and i sought long an hard to find the ends
...

When you ride on fear, and walk on glass
And each little crack in the road is a line of sorrow
That you try and avoid
And you spend so much time trying to stop thinking
...

Water lilies bloom in the sunlight
Under his stable window...
The fans hum in the noon heat,
Flies swished away with the whisk of his tail
...

The Best Poem Of Annie Mark

The Best Tea

The sinews in your arm tense and relax
Not so the tightness in my heart
We laugh and smile and are best friends
Trying so hard to just be as before.

Things change
And you cannot unchange them
Theres no going back
the words are said
And the chips have been played

The die rolled and stopped
And there will be no more crunchy gravel
Beneath my feet
And no more roosters at midnight
I will miss your tea.
