Greensleeves Poem by Ima Ryma

Greensleeves

Young Lady Greensleeves, in new gown
That I had just purchased for you.
Alas, why do you let me down
With all the antics that you do?
You know we were scheduled to be
At the party at the mayor's home.
I asked you to stay close to me
But no, off in the yard you roam.
I know there is no use to scoff.
Your new gown now in stained design.
Let me try to wipe the stains off,
Young Lady Greensleeves, daughter mine.

Young Lady Greensleeves, tomboy lass,
Stop somersaulting in the grass.
