Great Pause With White Snow Poem by Elizabeth Padillo Olesen

Great Pause With White Snow

On the first day of December
we get the first glimpse of real snow-
white, pure white, falling and falling.
I want to taste her in my mouth,
want to hold her in my hand
and her beauty simply stands.

Early morning she fills the ground
with streets, roads, rooftops
and trees at her great command.
She clothes the earth with purity
and allows us to slowdown
from our hectic and stressful day.
