ah! you've got just what i intended in this poem, laurie. against the conditions described, the dog seemed to defy gravity. thank you for reading and commenting... i'm still praying for rain. though in one part of town they got nearly 2 inches in a half hour a week ago or so, we haven't had a good rain in my neighborhood since late june. -glen
