Grace Sufficient Poem by Saint Seven

Grace Sufficient

Rating: 5.0

They bear the scars of troubles and trials
Life-long journeys, having travelled many miles
Come dust, come rain, through heat and pain,
they stood the test to be tried again
Warmth to others as they faced the cold
Brave and tough yet they are old..old...old

Many places they've seen and explored
Kept on going as their enemies roared
Never complaining and obedient to purpose,
even though without them, it would be hopeless
Stretched and forced into a fearless mould,
The perfect soldiers yet they are old...old...old

For such a service, a reward there must be
but no good fortune they will ever see
Thrown in dark places, dirty and wet
with no aid to injury, their dungeon is set
Yet they survive, they still stand bold
Persevering yet they are old...old...old

Forgotten and broken they are left to die
But hope remains as someone hears their cry
For through Him who they loved and believed,
Life eternal is the gift they received
Having lost everything, they are old...old...old
But Gods grace is sufficient as His son's blood was sold
