Gossip Between tongue And Teeth. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Gossip Between tongue And Teeth.

Rating: 5.0

One day the tongue extolled
the teeth and said
' You are all very good;
You protect me fully and
break the cuisines into
many small pieces and therefore
I am able to experience the joy
imbued in every bit of food.
What should I do to free
myself from the debt and
show my gratitude?

The teeth smiled and told
' In you are present the poison
and the nectar.
You can make relationships
bitter or better.
You can speak harsher or sweeter.
You can create the cruelest war
or the most passionate amore.
You are not merely a small muscular
organ with many taste buds,
Your calmness indicates wise heads.
Your texture is smooth and soft.
We would be happy if you
talk less and sugary as
it does not incur any cost;
and you remain, for ever, our
intimate dost.'
